Aeroflot

The Airline Aeroflot is the national carrier of Russia, and the largest in this country. Officially, the airline exists since February 1923. During the Soviet Union times, it was the only carrier of this country and at the same time the largest in the world. In 1971, the airline was incorporated into the IATA structure, and 9 years later became the official carrier of the participants of the 22nd Olympic Games in Moscow. To mark the occasion, new international airport Sheremetyevo 2 was built.
When the Soviet Union broke up, many separate aviation companies were established in Russia and in the former republics, and based on the Aeroflot fleet 300-500 regional and local airlines were established at that time. Shortly after, the carrier transformed into a joint-stock company. In 2006, Aeroflot became a member of the SkyTeam alliance. Currently, the line has 4 stars in the Skytrax ranking, and in the Brand Finance report it was recognized as the strongest airline brand in the world.
Today, the Russian carrier serves about three hundred destinations in sixty countries, among them airports in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and South America. In Poland, his planes land in Warsaw, moreover within the so-called code-share, it offers connections from airports in Gdansk, Krakow and Poznan.
