Finnair
Finnair airlines are Finland's national carrier and the fifth oldest in the world. They have been operating continuously since 1923 and were founded by consul Bruno Otto Lucander. Until 1968 they were called Aero O / Y, then the name was changed to the one that is binding today. The airlines first transportation was in 1924 from Helsinki to Tallinn. In 1973 Warsaw became a network of airlines connections and three years later Bangkok did as well. Since 1983, Finnair has operated a direct flight from Helsinki to Tokyo. The flights for political reasons had to bypass the Soviet air zone, lasted 13 hours. In May 1991 first flight to Tokyo over Siberia took place, thanks to which the trip was shortened by 3 hours. Since June 1988, Finnish airlines have been utilizing the connection with Beijing. It was our first connection from our continent to China. Many airlines refused to fly to China after the events of Tiananmen Square in 1989, but Finnair airlines did not.
Currently, there are nearly 70 directions in the carrier connection grid together with the domestic ones, Europe, the Middle East, North America, as well as Asia and Pacific. The airline offers includes Warsaw and seasonally Krakow.
Finnish airlines belong to the international aviation organization IATA since 1927, as well as being a member of the OneWorld air alliance. The Finnish government owns 55.8 percent of the airlines and the remaining 20 percent is in the hands of foreign shareholders.
