    Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is a country in Western Asia, on the Arabian Peninsula, with Riyadh as its capital. Other important cities include Jeddah, Mecca and Medina. The country borders Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Oman and Yemen. Deserts dominate the landscape, and vegetation is largely confined to oases. The climate is hot and dry, with temperatures ranging from 10°C in winter in the north to 50°C in summer. The best time to visit is winter, when temperatures are milder. In the west rise the Hejaz mountains, crowned by Jabal Sawda.
