    Islamabad
    Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan since 1966, sits on the Pothohar Plateau in the north-east of the country. Designed by the Greek architect Konstantinos Doxiadis, the city is ringed by the Margalla Hills. It enjoys a mild climate, with temperatures ranging from -4°C in winter to 45°C in summer. The Faisal Mosque, one of the largest of its kind in the world, is a must-see. The best time to visit is spring and autumn, when the weather is pleasant and humidity moderate.
