Luggage
At Lufthansa airline, you can take hand luggage onboard the plane. Its dimensions and weight are determined by airlines and may vary depending on the booking class or route. Registered luggage in Lufthansa must also have certain size and weight. There, too, everything depends on the travel class and route.
Booking classes
Passengers have four booking classes to choose from. In the cheapest, economical class, available on short and medium distances, passengers have a lot of space thanks to the ergonomic shapes of the seats. Additional comfort is provided by adjustable headrests.
In the Premium Economy class on intercontinental routes, passengers are entitled to an increased luggage allowance.
At most airports, passengers of the first and business class can use special lounges offering many services. The first class of Lufthansa was awarded in the Skytrax ranking, that checks quality of airlines’ services.
Online check-in
At 23 hours before departure you can check-in online, choose a place on the plane and print your boarding pass or send it to your phone. Online check-in is possible on routes:
• Lufthansa – the whole world,
• Austrian – between Germany and Austria,
• SWISS – only for departures from Frankfurt, Munich, Belgrade, Tokyo, Vienna and Catania,
• LOT – (with the exception of Hamburg and Stuttgart) between Germany and Poland,
• TAP Air Portugal only for departures from Dusseldorf or London Heathrow,
• Adria Airways and Croatia Airlines at departures from Germany,
• SAS for departures from Germany (except for Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin Tegel), Dubai and Zagreb.
Fleet
The air fleet belonging to the Lufthansa Group is the second largest in the world. It consists of nearly 300 aircraft. Airbus A380-800, A340-600, A340-300, A330-300 and Boeing 747-8, 747-400, BBJ 737-800 IGW are flying on intercontinental routes. Medium range routes are served by Airbus A321-100 / 200, A320-200, A319-100 and Boeing 737-500, 737-300. Embraer ERJ-195 and ERJ-190 aircraft as well as Bombardier CRJ900 and CRJ700 are flying on the shortest routes.
Frankfurt Airport
The airport is also known as the Rhine-Men. It is the busiest airport in Germany, the third in Europe (after Heathrow and Charles de Gaulle) and the ninth in the world. The airport is located 12 km southwest of the Frankfurt’s city centre. It is the main base of Lufthansa and German Condor lines.
Frankfurt Airport was founded in 1936. Today, in two terminals, it serves 58 million passengers a year. Terminal T1, divided into zones A, B, C and Z, serves Lufthansa and Star Alliance flights. There is also a separate part of the terminal for supporting Lufthansa first class passengers.
Terminal T2 is divided into zones D and E.
Refreshments
In the economy class on all routes are served hot and cold drinks, and depending on the route – snacks or hot meal. In the Premium Economy class, passengers are greeted on board with a drink. Business class passengers can choose dishes from the menu depending on the length of the route and direction. First class catering dishes are prepared by the best chiefs.
Additional services
On intercontinental routes passengers of all classes can watch the Sport 24 channel for free. The offer of the English-language programs includes football matches of German Bundesliga, English Premier League, Formula 1 races, tennis matches and golf tournaments. The channel's operation is conditional upon the availability on-board of the FlyNet online service (it is on about 90 percent of the carrier’s aircrafts). Thanks to it, passengers can also use the Internet on their own devices during the flight.

my journey, that was supposed to be a 4 hours trip, was at the end a nightmare with missed connections and even a flight (from Munich to Nice) they canceled 10 minutes before boarding… which made me stay one night in Munich.
